When they notice exceptions, they notify the Board and send the homeowner a leter to insure they are aware of the violaton and the corresponding restriction relevant to the violation. Remember, we each have a responsibility to make sure we keep our properties looking nice and in good repair, so please take care of any necessary repairs and maintenance. Let's all make sure we do our part to ensure our neighborhood continues to be the most attactive in the area!
Our S.A.F.F.E. Officer, Dave McDonald has a C.O.P. (Civilians on Patrol) 4-hour training class at the Northside Police Substation (on Jones-Maltsberger) every month from 6pm to 10pm. If you're interested in serving on the patrol as another set of eyes for our neightborhood and observing Officer McDonald by cruising with him on one of his shifts, you must attend the training class first. Our substation in the only substation that offer the 4-hour class, the others require a much longer class.
The class will be offered every month. Officer McDonald will alternate the day and time. One month he'll offer the class on a Tuesday night from 6-10pm and the other month he'll offer the class on a Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm. Garbage and Recycling Containers The 96 gallon garbage and recycling containers are really great. All garbage must be bagged and have your black wheeled 96 gallon container on the street at your curb by 7 AM on Monday mornings. Your recycling container is identical but blue in color. Recyclables will be picked up on Thursdays and should be on the street at your curb by 7 AM on Thursday mornings. No bags or boxes will be accepted outside the containers. Please remove the emptied containers as soon as possible after they're emptied to keep our neighborhood looking neat. The new containers must be concealed from view except when placed at the curb for pickup on the appropriate day.
All recyclables need to be rinsed clean but labels do not need to be removed. No bags or boxes will be accepted outside the container. It is estimated that up to 80% of our garbage is now recyclable. This includes plastic numbered 1 through 7 which is on the bottom of most plastic articles, bundled plastic bags, cylinders from rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, telephone books wrapping paper, paperback books, magazines, junk mail, newspaper inserts and paper catalogs, flattened cardborad, cereal, cracker or other food boxes, cans, glass jars and bottles with lids and caps removed. Syringes should be sealed in a plastic or metal container, tightly secured and go in your regular trash container, not your recycling container.
Hazardous Materials can be brought to the City of San Antonio Household Hazardous Waste Center 7030 Culebra. Bring a CPS bill as proof of payment of City of San Antonio Garbage/brush fee. Hours are Thursdays 10 to 7, Fridays 7 to 4 and the first Saturday of every month 8 to 1. I would recommend calling 311 first to confirm.
Grass Clippings - The City encourages grasscycling with a mulching mower to help save time, money and to further protect our environment. We will continue to have brush and large garbage pickup twice a year which will be anounce with a door tag on your home. For dates call the City at 311.
For more information you can call the City of San Antonio at 207-6400 or 311 on your phone 24-7-365. Also on the web at www.sanantonio.gov/enviro/solidwaste/recycling.asp or www.sanantonio.gov/enviro
Littering and Dumping It is illegal to litter or dump trash per Texas State Law & San Antonio's City Ordinance Codes. We have a litter problem in our neighborhood. Please pick up litter you see while walking or driving our neighborhood. It's a reflection of who we all are. We have also had dumping in our green belts. The fines vary from $100 up to $2000. The fines are listed on the city web site

A City Code Compliance Officer stated if anyone dumps over 50 LBS they will be arrested and have to post bail. They have to pick up what they've dumped and provide a receipt to the court as proof of clean up.
Remember, we all have a responsiblity to watch at all times for any suspicious activity. Per Officer Mark Bishop, please report all suspicious activity and all incidences. This is very important for statistical information and comparison with other neighborhoods in the area so police know where to focus. Office Mark Bishop's information is on the Safety Officers Page.
The By-Laws of Redland Oaks Homeowners Association (ROHOA) outline several responsibilities of the Architectural Control Committee. One of those responsibilities is the creation of a set of Development Guidelines.
Specifically, Article 10, section 1 of the By-Laws says:
“…The Architectural Control Committee, regardless of by whom appointed, shall prepare and adopt a written statement setting forth the development and building standards and procedures for the implementation and enforcement of same, said statement shall be called Operational and Development Guidelines…”
In addition, these “Guidelines” are included in the list of “Books and Records” that should be available to all members, as spelled out in Article 12 of the By-Laws. Please note that the “Operational and Development Guidelines” are listed in addition to the By-Laws and the Covenants, and are not a subset of either of these Association documents.
To the best of the Board’s, the ACC’s and the Management Company’s knowledge, such a written statement does not exist.
The Board is committed to fulfilling this responsibility outlined by the By-Laws and has undertaken a project to develop these written “Guidelines” for the Association. The purpose of these “Guidelines” will be to further clarify the ACC’s interpretation of the Covenants and Deed Restrictions and define ambiguous or subjective terminology.
The Board would like the input of the Members of the Association into the development of these “Guidelines”. To that end, e-mail any of the officer on the contacts page.
